Dear Professor Arora:


I write on behalf of the Simons Foundation to invite you to submit a 
nomination for a three-year Junior Fellowship of the Simons Society of 
Fellows, an initiative started by the foundation in 2013. All 
nominations must be received by the foundation by *September 13, 2018*.

The goal of the Society of Fellows is to create a community of scholars 
and encourage intellectual interactions across disciplines and across 
universities in New York City (Brooklyn, Manhattan, Staten Island, 
Queens, the Bronx). Junior Fellows are outstanding young scientists who 
receive support from the foundation for three years to conduct 
independent research at an institution within New York City. *A host 
institution must be contained within one of the five boroughs of New 
York City. Institutions outside New York City are not eligible to host a 
Junior Fellow.*

Details of the programs, including eligibility requirements and 
nomination procedure, are given in attachments to this message.


We will be happy to answer any questions you may have. We hope very much 
that you will be willing to participate in the nomination process for 
these prestigious awards.
