[iasmath-seminars] Invitation to the "what is?" seminar

Dear all,

I would like to invite you to attend our "What is ?" seminar series, which will be restarting this Thursday at 1pm.​ 

Each week the speaker will ​e​xplain one basic idea to​ a non-expert​ audience.

Some past topics include: 
​"Schottky ​problem", "rigid graph", "PAC learning", "moduli space", "Schubert calculus".

The goal is to get to know each other through our mathematics, to learn basic concepts in other fields and to encourage collaboration across areas. 

This week Pazit Haim-Kislev​ will talk about "What is a Persistence Module?" 

The talks are usually 45 minutes, on Thursdays at 1:00 PM in Simonyi 114.
