Hey everyone,

In continuation with the discussion in the group meeting today, I set up a
Slack workspace for the CSDM group.

What is Slack?
This is a platform that allows a group of people to discuss things in
customary "public" chat channels and in private messages as well.
It is very user-friendly and you can access it online or via a phone app or
a desktop app.
If you use the app you can also get notifications for whatever you choose.

You can use this link to join:
https://join.slack.com/t/iascsdm/shared_invite/zt-ii9i8pau-YYf_iR5ix3vUwBQ_KlRGRg
The link should be deactivated after 30 days and then people can join only
by invitation from people who are already inside.

I currently set up a few chat rooms to start (general, random, lunch, new
papers we like, seminars), but anyone can start and join new channels.
Furthermore, each user can have a "status" that you can update by clicking
on your profile picture on the top-right corner of the webpage.
I added an option there to update your status to "I am at the institute" to
let others know when you are working from the office - this status
automatically resets every day.

I think using this type of platform can be very helpful during these times!
It'd be nice to have a way to talk to each other which is less formal than
sending emails.

Hope to see you all there!
