Subject: Upcoming update to the IAS Duo login prompt for web applications

Dear Faculty, Members, and Staff,

Any time a login prompt changes unexpectedly, it should be a warning that the website may not be what you are expecting. This is why I wanted to make everyone aware well in advance of an upcoming change to our Duo login prompt for web applications.

The following webpage on the IAS Security website shows you exactly what the changes are going to be and explains why the changes are going into place. I recommend that you take a look to get familiar with the new interface so that it doesn't come as a surprise to you later on.

This change is being pushed by DuoSecurity and helps to address a number of issues and inconveniences that the current login prompt has. We are excited to see Duo fix these things and look forward to using the new prompt, which will be rolling out to web applications one by one over the next few months.

There is nothing for you to do, your smartphone or token will continue to work through the transition without modification. If you do have any questions, though, feel free to reach out to your School's helpdesk or me and we'll be glad to discuss.

Safe computing!
Brian
