Fri May 28 13:49:57 EDT 2021
Good afternoon,
A brief overview of the construction activities around campus scheduled
for next week.
Rubenstein Commons
The first glass panel and the equipment to install it are onsite and will
be installed later today or Tuesday. The glass installation will continue
through the summer.
Energy Savings Project
Geothermal System - The restoration of the berms in the well field is
complete and the seeding of the berms and restoration of bare spots around
campus will be completed next week. Investigation into the removal or
lowering of the berm closest to Simonyi Hall is ongoing.
Fuld Hall Next week, the installation of chilled water lines in the
basement and crawl spaces of Fuld Hall will continue. They will not be
working in the basement rest rooms, so those will remain open. But there
may be contractors working in the hallway, so please avoid them as you
best you can.
In the remainder of the building, contractors will be laying out work in a
number of rooms on all floors. This work will start Tuesday and will
involve only a ten to fifteen minute visit to each listed room to review
pipe routes for future construction. The rooms to be entered are Fuld
101, 105, 107, 110, 112, 114, 201, 205, 209, 211, 213, 215, 222, 225, 301,
311, 312, and 323. You do not have to be there, but if you wish to be
there, or have other concerns, please contact me.
West Building The removal of old piping and equipment will continue
next week in the basement. No work will be done on any other floors. The
chilled water problem has been resolved, but if there any other issues
related to building air conditioning, please submit a School Dude work
order (for the fastest response).
Bloomberg Hall Next week, demolition of pumps, piping, and other
equipment will continue in both the Bloomberg and Biology mechanical rooms
on the ground floor. This equipment will be removed via the ground floor
hallways. The contractors have been instructed to keep any noise to a
minimum. Please contact me if it becomes overly disruptive.
Simonyi Hall Minor above ceiling control work will occur on Tuesday
and/or Wednesday in the following offices of Simonyi Hall: 011, 110, 210,
and 219. This work will take ½ hour to 1 hour per office to complete.
Occupants of these offices do not have to be there, but if you have any
concerns, please contact me.
HS/SS Library Next week, the removal of HVAC equipment serving White
Levy room will begin. This work will occur only in the basement, not on
the main floor of the library. Otherwise only minor control and
insulation work will occur.
There will be no work next week in A, B, and D Buildings, Simons Dining,
or Wolfensohn Hall.
If you have any questions, comments, or concerns about the projects and
the work being done, please contact me.
Also, if you know of any upcoming events on campus that you feel might be
affected by the construction, please contact me.
Thanks for your understanding and cooperation.
And have a great holiday weekend.
