[math-ias] New IAS resources for learning English and other languages online

Dear Faculty, Members, and Staff,

 

We are pleased to announce new IAS resources for learning English and
other languages online.  Subscriptions have been obtained to the following
two programs:

 

1. Mango Languages provides instruction for over 60 language courses
including 17 English courses for non-English speakers.  Mango's system
offers goal-based learning, insights on grammar, voice comparison, and
pronunciation tools among other features.

 

2. Transparent Language offers over 100 languages as well as an
intermediate English immersion course.

 

To create a Mango account while on campus visit
http://org.mangolanguages.com/ias/start.  Enter an email address and a
password that you select through "create a profile".  To create an account
with Transparent while on campus visit
http://education.transparent.com/ias/public/modern/register?nextPage=/game
/modern/login.  For accounts to be set up for anyone not yet on the
Institute campus, please email tucker at ias.edu or hansen at ias.edu.  Family
members are welcome to have their own accounts.

 

Additionally, we have complied a list of resources focused on English as a
Second Language.  Please use the links from the following website to
access the programs, http://library.ias.edu/hs/english.
