[math-ias] Activities next week

To the Institute community, 

This coming Monday , September 23, marks the start of term and an exciting week here at the Institute. 

In preparation for the Institute Welcome Reception on Monday , September 23 , the following areas of campus will be affected: 

- On Saturday , September 21, to Sunday , September 22, a tent will be installed on the back terrace of Fuld Hall. Event set up will be taking place under the tent on Monday . The tent will remain in place until the following Monday , September 30 . 

- The Dining Hall will be serving lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday , September 23 . 

- The Welcome Reception will begin at 5:30 p.m. on the South Lawn outside Full Hall. All F aculty, M embers, and S taff are welcome to attend. If you and your family are planning to attend, please register at www.ias.edu/welcome-fall2013 


In preparation for the Dreams of Earth and Sky event on Friday , September 27, and Saturday , September 28 , the following areas of campus will be affected: 

- On Tuesday , September 24 , a tent will be installed on the grass courtyard in front of Wolfensohn Hall. Some noise is expected during the installation. The tent will remain in place until Tuesday , October 1 . 

- On Wednesday , September 25 , and Thursday , September 26 , event set up will be taking place under the tent, which will include equipment set up and audio sound checks. Again, noise disturbances are anticipated to occur at various periods during both days . We will work to minimize disruption to the Institute community and apologize for any inconvenience . 

- On Friday , September 27 and Saturday, September 28 , D ining S ervices will be serving a modified lunch beginning at 11:30 a.m. Conference participants will break for lunch at 12:30 p.m. 

- Due to the anticipated high volume of vehicles on Friday, September 27 , we ask that the Institute community park in a designated overflow lot next to Simonyi Hall. Attendants will be on site to direct parking from 7 a.m. 

- Afternoon tea on Friday will be held on the South Lawn at the back of Fuld Hall from 3 to 4:30 p.m.
